Near the end of September 2022, my library received a View Sonic electronic sign that sits at the library entrance. Each week, I update the signs to include library hours, a welcome to patrons, some sort of motivational quote, and as of Spring 2023 a study tip, as well as any other signs announcing workshops and events in the library. My plan is to have a library of images so that I can rotate them for an entire year without repeating the basic, thematic signs.
Below are examples of some of the images I’ve created using Adobe Express and Canva. All of the images are my original work using the high quality graphics from the respective programs. The samples show the range of styles and subject matter in which I design. My philosophy is that signage should be eye-catching – even beautiful – and should reflect the wide range of subjects you would find in the library and the interest of students.
